Batman Day 2017

Once again, Batman Day sneaks up on me… which, I suppose, is appropriate for the super-stealthy Dark Knight to do on his day. Even so, I still managed to whip something together this afternoon in time to post for the day. Comic stores and conventions all around the country no doubt have special Batman-themed events planned for the day. Hopefully all comic fans are able to get out and partake in something going on near you. Meanwhile, here’s my contribution to today’s festivities:

*Another two-for Saturday post as I catch up on the skipped days earlier in the week. Didn’t want to miss out on kicking off next week’s story and couldn’t resist one more T-rump jab! 🙂 Who is the new Robant?

*That switch has always been there, right? I mean, it wouldn’t just suddenly appear as a convenient and necessary plot device without any previous existence or explanation, right? Surely it has always been there and we just never really noticed. Yes, that must be it. 🙂

*So… who knew this was headed here? Okay, but do you know what’s going to happen next? Buzz does like to stay in character, doesn’t he! 🙂

*What exciting adventure awaits our courageous caped crusaders? Who does keep lighting that Batfly signal? Are Dez and Blue okay? These and many other inane questions will be answered in the exciting next episode… possibly. 😉

Batman Day 2016!

So… last year I was taken by surprise with Batman Day. I didn’t know it was a thing! I whipped up a quick picture for Batman Day 2015 in the eleventh hour so that I didn’t let the day go by without recognition. This year, however, I was able to plan a bit and take the time to come up with something a bit more stylish.

batman-day-2016

This is at its core a fairly simple drawing, but I’m quite happy with the design. It does everything I wanted it to do… highlights and shadow, a little bat-signal shining on the situation, and a traditional grimacing Batman in profile. So… have a happy Batman Day and please let me know what you think of this!
