The Creature!

I have fond memories of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Of all the classic Universal Pictures monster movies, he was the one they created, as opposed to adapting stories from literature. There was also that haunting DA-NA-NAAAA music that played every time the Creature was about to appear…

Creature from the Black Lagoon

I’ve been in the spirit a bit this year and trying to top my Halloween-themed output from last year. This time last year I was still new to blogging and not sure exactly what I wanted to do with my blog. I’m in more of a comfort zone now, so I can put more time into ideas and the actual artwork too!

Please let me know what you think of this one, and remember, if you are interested in requesting my services as an Illustrator, please use the Contact page and let me know as much as you can about your request.

  1. This was actually a pretty good movie. The underwater scenes were surprisingly convincing, especially for that time period.

    1. Completely agree! It still held up well for me as a child of the 1970s and had a very creepy vibe to it. Universal did some really good work in all their early monster movies, and I guess they put their best foot forward here since it was something unique to them too.

    1. It’s fairly popular for parodies, especially of sea-creature monster things. It’s actually a good movie for its time, but is open to parody.

    1. Thank you. I decided I liked it so much, I made it my Facebook photo at least through the holidays 🙂 I should probably watch the movie again sometime soon myself.
